William T. "Bill" Unz passed away at St. Camillus Nursing Home after a long illness. William was a life long resident of Syracuse and attended Most Holy Rosary High School. He was employed by the City of Syracuse Water Department as a laborer until he retired in 1995.

Bill loved restoring and collecting antique fishing tackle. He loved card games and visiting with friends and family especially over a nice meal.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, William F. Unz and Mary Catherine O'Leary, his sister, Mary Ann Unz Mesmer whom he loved and missed dearly, and his father-in-law, Ayres C. "Bud" Scott who was like a father to him.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan (Scott), his daughter, Erin Unz Rouse (Charles) and four grandchildren, Alexander Unz, Owen Rouse, Brielle Rouse and Jordana Rouse as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins including his niece, Mary Mesmer Giblin, and nephews, Bob and John Peter Mesmer, with whom he shared special relationships with and Thomas Unz Sr., his cousin and best friend.
