William James
Glover
July 30, 1938 – December 13, 2025
William James Glover, 87, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, December 13, 2025. William was born and raised in Marcellus, NY; son of the late Urban and Winifred Glover. He attended Marcellus Central Schools as a three-sport athlete and was a proud member of the 1957 basketball team that was inducted into the Marcellus Mustangs Athletic Hall of Fame.
William went on to serve in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. It was about this time that Judy Dorsey played matchmaker and introduced William to the future love of his life, Martha Dorsey. They were married in 1967 and immediately started a family. He was a loving father, who put his wife and family first. In William's spare time he enjoyed hobbies such as making his own wine and beer and photography with his lifelong friend, Ed Oshea.
William is predeceased by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbara Glover and sister-in-law, Rita Glover.
He was survived by his loving wife, Martha Dorsey Glover, children, Susan (Christopher) Blaich, Patricia (Stephan) Lasher, Michael (Gina) Glover, Karen Donnelly, Katherine Glover, and Tom Glover, 10 grandchildren, brother, Paul Glover, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 10am at Transfiguration Church; 740 Teall Ave, Syracuse, NY 13206. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Francis House; 108 Michaels Ave. Syracuse, NY 13208
