William W.
Dwyer
August 16, 1942 – June 10, 2024
William W. Dwyer, 81, of Camillus, NY passed away unexpectedly but peacefully, at home on June 10, 2024. Bill was born in Syracuse, attended St. Anthony of Padua High School and Auburn Community College. Bill worked in the food service industry for his entire career, in a variety of management positions. He and Sue were members of Tuscarora Golf Club for over 30 years. After retirement, they spent many happy winters in Dunedin, Florida.
Above all else, Bill loved his family. He took great pleasure in watching his children grow up and raise families of their own. A favorite pastime for the grandkids was getting their height measured by Grandpa on the kitchen pantry door. He regularly cheered them on at all their sporting events, band competitions, and dance recitals.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Dwyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sue, his children, Bill Dwyer (Susan), Mary Ellen Britt (Patrick), Patricia Dwyer (Greg Laub), and Mark Dwyer. Also, eight grandchildren: Kevin Dwyer, Meghan Britt, Grace Dwyer, Michael Britt, Anna Dwyer, Jackson Laub, Paul Dwyer, and Olivia Laub. Bill is also survived by his sister, Margaret Lester (Bill), brothers, Robert Dwyer (Connie), Paul Dwyer (Claudy), Edward Dwyer, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 10am to 11am, followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Bill's life at 11am in St. Michael's Church, 4782 W Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse. He will be laid to rest privately in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Food Bank of CNY.
