Ginny cherished time spent with old friends and never missed an opportunity for meaningful conversations, which often stretched for hours. She took tremendous pride in earning her Master’s in Education from Syracuse University and in her work as a teacher at Cherry Road Elementary School early in her career.
A devoted sports fan of Bishop Ludden High School and Syracuse University, Ginny could often be found passionately cheering for their football and basketball teams. Her enthusiasm, loyalty, and caring nature endeared her to many and blessed her with lasting friendships she carried close to her heart.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband, William ("Buzz"); their four children, Ginny Buhl, Jennifer DeGraan and her husband, Edward DeGraan, Kristen Santos and her husband, Dan Santos, and William ("Buzzy") Buhl and his wife, Mona Lisa Huerta Buhl; and her six grandchildren, Caroline, Ned, Mallory, Lauren, Danny, and Patrick. Her grandchildren brought great joy to her life, and they affectionately called her “Mamie. ” She is also survived by her brother, Charles O’Hara and his wife, Kathy O’Hara, and her sister, Patty Bartlewski, with whom she shared a deep and cherished bond. When the three of them were together, they were truly an unstoppable force of love, laughter, and family strength.
Ginny’s legacy is one of love, connection, and joy. Her sweet demeanor and ability to make others feel valued will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved people and loved making new friends, especially during her time spent at Brookdale Senior Living.
A calling hour will be held on June 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Church, located at 5600 Genesee Street in Camillus. Attendees are encouraged to wear something orange in Ginny’s honor.
