Obituary

Suzanne Boyer Goodelle passed away on June 19, 2022.  The third of 4 siblings and only girl, she was born in Rome, NY on November 4, 1947 to Marion and Elwood Boyer. Sue is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Gary, whom she married on August 26, 1967 and is now finally reunited.


Sue spent her early childhood in Rome and moved to Dewitt where she graduated from Dewitt High School. She attended business school and worked for General Electric before starting her family in Baldwinsville.  The family moved to Camillus in 1973 where they resided for over 25 years. When her children grew older, Sue worked for JC Penney in Camillus Plaza as an administrative assistant. After retirement, Sue and Gary spent many years living at their Skaneateles Lake cottage in summer months and the rest of the year in Palm Harbor, FL. In January 2021, she moved to Glen Rock, NJ to be closer to her children and grandchildren.


Sue was an avid reader, loved tennis and golf, and excelled at knitting, crocheting, gardening, and creating decorative ceramic figurines. She also loved chatting with her grandchildren and watching them compete in sporting events.


Sue is survived by her children, Scott (Maureen) of Mooresville, NC, Tracey (Santiago) of Glen Rock, NJ and Jeffrey (Julie) of Camillus, NY and grandchildren, Jamie, Tucker, Emma, Molly, Gabriel, and Michael, as well as her brothers Bruce and Bradley.  She is predeceased by her oldest brother, Barry.


A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:30am with a prayer service immediately after. The service will be held at Edward J. Ryan Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Avenue, Syracuse, followed by a burial at the Lake View Cemetery in the village of Skaneateles.
