Sharon A. Viel (Savastino), age 67, of Solvay, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 16, 2021 after a courageous battle with Cancer.

Sharon was born on September 20, 1953 in Syracuse and was a lifelong resident of the Solvay/Camillus area.  Sharon had recently retired from Gannon Pest Control where she worked many years alongside her family and co-workers that were like her family.  Sharon is survived by her husband, William C. Viel Jr, children, Jennifer Savastino, Mena Viel and William (Sabrina) Viel, IV and "bonus" son, Fred Hoige.

Sharon's family & friends meant the world to her and she was always there for whatever anyone needed.  Her grandchildren were her pride & joy and Colin, Daniel, Isabella, Joshua, Dominick, Luca and Natalie have gained a Guardian Angel that will forever be by their side.

Bill & Sharon were very active in the Gem & Mineral Society of Syracuse and enjoyed assisting with the annual Gem Show and the many friends they made in their years as Board Members.  They also were annual visitors to Topsail Island, NC every summer.  Sunday dinners, family game nights and holiday celebrations were Sharon and Bill's favorite activities, and her family especially appreciated the chocolate cake she would make for everyone's birthday.

Sharon was loved by so many and will be missed by her immediate family, extended family and so many who had the opportunity to know her.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave.  Calling hours prior from 4 to 7pm. Burial will be private.
