Robert David Perkins, 83, of Camillus, passed Saturday, December 8, 2018 in his home.

Born in Syracuse to Lester and Grace Perkins, he was a proud graduate of Most Holy Rosary (1954). He was a star basketball athlete during his Rosary days. Robert continued his education at LeMoyne College. He worked for Carrier Corporation for 33 years before retiring and working part time for both Jeans Potato Chips and Terrell's. Robert was a member of Holy Family Church. He had a lifetime commitment to his Catholic faith and enjoyed singing in the choir. Family, friends, faith and community service were the central focuses of Bob's life. He loved spending time with his friends and following the adventures of his children, grandchildren, nephew and nieces. One of his greatest joys was recently learning of and meeting his niece Jan Calderwood from Australia, the daughter of his brother John, who died during WWII. He was also a devoted fan of SU Sports and the NY Yankees.

Surviving are his sister, Anne Lawton; two daughters, Marcia Perkins and Leslie Perkins; three sons, John Perkins, Robert Perkins (Megan), and Michael Perkins (Heidi); four grandchildren Brianna, Mackenzie, Evan and Maddison; a nephew, John Lawton; and several nieces, Pat Lawton, Kate Cosgrove, Margaret Fitzpatrick, Marybeth Mastrianni, Carol Gaspo, and Theresa Hawley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018, at 10am at Holy Family Church in Fairmount. Calling hours will 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse, NY 13219. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in DeWitt.
