Robert A. "Bert" Anderson, of Syracuse, NY, passed away on October 13 at the age of 61, surrounded by family. He was the eldest son of Richard Farrell Anderson and Mary Alice Driscoll Anderson of Syracuse, NY. Robert was predeceased by his father in 2010 and his brother Richard P. in 2022.

Survived by his mother, Mary; his late brother Dick's wife Dottie, and three siblings including Julie, Bill (Susan) and Tom (Annie), all of Syracuse; and 18 nieces and nephews.

Bert was a graduate of Bishop Ludden High School, Class of 1980. He attended St. Bonaventure University, St. John Fisher College and OCC. He held a variety of jobs through the years and was especially proud of his time working on crews at Vector Construction, the family business.

Bert was an original. He had a great sense of humor and was willing to laugh at himself if the joke was clever. His favorite things were classic rock and modern country music; 70's sitcoms; his mother's cooking; and football season. Like his brother Dick, he loved a great steak and a good song.

Bert hung in there through a lifetime of challenges and setbacks. He was a unifying force for our family, and we will miss him.

A special note of thanks to John DiPaola, Bert's close childhood friend who stayed in regular contact with him until present; to the many extended family and friends who were included on Bert's Master Call List for "emergency essentials"; to Dr. John Charles and his team for the years of compassionate care they extended to Bert; and to the attentive and empathetic staff at Upstate and Van Duyn.

A funeral Mass will be held at 12pm on Friday, October 20 (visitation 11am-12pm) in the Chapel at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse NY.
