RJ Carr, 35, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 27, 2024 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. RJ had a warm spirit and radiant smile.  His zest for life was infectious and he embraced every opportunity to explore new horizons and create lasting memories with family and friends.  He will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Patrick Whipple, Jim and Dawn Carr, aunt, Cindy Misiewicz, and nephew, Zechariah Brown, Jr.

RJ is survived by the love of his life, Hao-Van Duong, his parents Russ and Sherry Carr, siblings, Tracie (Jason) McCarthy, Mollie Pierce, and Tyler (Gabby) Pierce, nephews, Caden, Jordon, Alex, Malakai, and Apollo, grandmother, Marion Whipple, aunt and uncle, Colleen Robinson and Michael Whipple and mother and sister in-law, Rose and Hao-Nhi Duong.

His funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2025 at 1pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave.  Calling hours will be held from 11am to 1pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
