Richard Young, 70, of Syracuse passed away May 7, 2022 at St. Camillus from liver and kidney failure.

Dick leaves behind his wife, Patricia Stapleton Young, a grandson, Shiloh Young, and his brother, Robert (Karen) Young. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lauren, parents, Chan and Lillian Young, a brother, Bill and his niece Summer Teague.

Dick was a deeply kind man, steadfast, genuine and giving to family and friends. He was a graduate of F.M. and Alfred University. Dick devoted his life to reading, writing in his notebooks, and listening to music after a car accident in his early twenties caused a head injury and hemiplegia.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday May 17, 2022 from 4-6pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. A prayer service will be held at 6pm immediately following calling hours. Burial will be private in Lake View Cemetery.
