Cregan
December 2, 1950 – April 16, 2026
Patrick Anthony Cregan, 75, passed away on April 16th peacefully with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 2, 1950 in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland, the youngest of Jeremiah and Nora Cregan's eight children. He immigrated to the United States in 1970. He lived in New York for a short time before settling in Syracuse, New York. He retired from Crouse Hinds in 2013 after working there for 39 years.
Patrick was an avid storyteller and loved sharing tales with his family and friends about growing up in Ireland. He was a member of the Syracuse AOH and served as a past president. He enjoyed golfing, watching Syracuse sports, the NY Yankees, and the Buffalo Bills. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's/St. Brigid's Church. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jeremiah and Nora, his brothers, Stephen, John, and Joseph, and his sister-in-law, Kathleen Cregan. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Grace (Spears) Cregan of Syracuse; his daughters, Grace Hanora (Robert) Glennon of Liverpool, and Mary Bridget (Austin) Cregan-Smith of Syracuse; his grandchildren, Aidan Glennon and West Coons; his siblings, Jeremiah (Marion) Cregan, Mary (Desmond) Sammon, Michael Cregan, and Ellen Stack. He is also survived by his brother in law, Michael (Martha) Spears, his sister-in-laws Chris Bond, Monica Cregan, and Mary Ellen Spears; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 10am at St. Patrick's St. Brigid's Church. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Patrick's family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to Dr. Huang, Dr. George, Dr. Nave, Nascentia Health, and Hospice of Central New York for their caring compassion and love the past few months.
