Mary Kay "Katie" Sakran, 84, passed away with her loving family by her side on March 5, 2021.  Katie was born and raised on Tipperay Hill.  She worked for the Syracuse City School District for 30 years and was owner of Fred and Kay's Grocery Store for 10 years.  Katie enjoyed family, traveling, cooking, riding in the corvette and her Irish heritage.

Katie was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Bartholomew McNamara, brothers, Edward, and Bartholomew and son in law, Mike Turley.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frederick Sakran, children; Terry  Kelley (Bill Roesch), Nancy Turley, Fred Jr. (Kathy) Sakran, Karen (Ted) Melnyk, Kristin (Marty) Felicia, grandchildren, Rick Kelley, Mike, Shannon, Sheila, and Christopher Turley, Fritz, Sabrina, and Aaron Sakran, and Michelle, Marty and Mark Felicia, 3 great grandchildren, Ricky, Kaitlyn and Tulip and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7pm on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Syracuse, NY 13219.  Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt, NY.
