Mary Margaret Sheehan Jackson passed away on June 25th with her loving family by her side. She was a devout Catholic and communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Mary was a gentle, kind, loving, generous person, and a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was born on June 30, 1951, the daughter of William and Janet Sheehan.

One week after graduating from St. John the Evangelist/Cathedral High School she started working at National Grange Mutual Insurance, where she continued working for the next 45 years.

Mary was predeceased by her son, Matthew Jackson, great grandson, Noah Cardinell, brother-in-law, Bill Jackson, sister-in-law, Mary Egloff Jackson, and brother-in-law, William Kortright.

Mary is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim, daughter, Erin (Alex) Pineda, sister, Karen Kortright, grandchildren, Jake, Joseph, Brieanna, and Ciara, and great-grandsons, Eli and Isaac, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Mary was a longtime parishioner of St. Brigid & St. Joseph Church. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, secretary of the Parish Council, and her beautiful voice was part of the choir for over 40 years.

Mary's family would like to thank the staff of Upstate Hematology-Oncology and Hospice of CNY for their care and support.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 11am at The Basilica of Sacred Heart; 927 Park Ave., Syracuse, NY. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11am prior to mass at Church.  Burial will be private.
