Markian Dopiwka, 43 , of Syracuse passed away July 22, 2023.

Mark was born August 14th, 1979 in Queens, NY. He spent the majority of his life in Syracuse, making lifelong friends, creating havoc in the neighborhood and entertaining us all with his varied adventures. He was the most generous friend, son, brother and uncle to all those who loved him. He decided to bow out of this life a little too early, but then again, he always had his own style. It brings us comfort to know that he is reunited with some of his very best friends up in heaven. No doubt they have already started stirring up mischief.

He leaves behind his two adoring parents, Ihor and Anna Dopiwka, his one and only sister Andrea and her husband Mark, and his favorite niece Alyse and beloved nephew Andrew. Last but not least, he is survived by his dog Max who was loved more than any dog in history.

He will be forever missed and always loved. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday August 3, 2023 at 10am at Holy Family Church. Calling Hours will be Wednesday August 2, 2023 from 4-7pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. John the Ukrainian Cemetery.
