Margaret "Peggy" Ponichtera, 63, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on May 18, 2019.  Peggy was a RN at Crouse Hospital for over 38 years.  She had a caring heart for others and was known to be the family travel agent.  Peggy loved vacationing and hanging out with family and friends.  She also enjoyed shopping and had a fine appreciation of a clean house.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joe; children, Jill (Jon) Heliker, Matt (Leah) and Kristen Ponichtera, siblings, Lorrie (Jim) Williams, Joanne (Brad) Crum, Greg (Sherry) Maslak, and Shelley (Gary) Litvin, siblings-in-law, Kathy (Wayne) Leslie, Janet Mulcare and Marianne (John) Ricker and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave.  Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6pm prior to the service.  Burial will be private.
