A life long resident of Syracuse, Margaret Flannery Kress passed away at home in Camillus with two of her children present. Margaret attended North High School and Powelson Business School before commencing a career as a mom and an executive secretary. Over the years, she worked for Crouse Hinds, Iroquois Publishing and the State of New York. She was best known for her work at the NYS Motor Vehicle Department.

Margaret's husband, Martin, passed away in 2014. They had been married for nearly 69 years and together they had visited every state in the union -- including Hawaii and Alaska..

Surviving Margaret are her four children, Nancy Dierdorf (Charlottesville, Virginia), Martin Kress (Columbus, Ohio), Dennis Kress (Crofton, Maryland) and Judy Kress (Syracuse, New York). Not to mention as endless array of friends and family, nieces and nephews and in particular her maid of honor, Elsie Kowalski.

Margaret also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Known as Peggy or Marge to her close friends, Margaret was a communicant of St Anthony of Padua Parish until 1985 when she and her family moved to Camillus. Margaret attended Holy Family Church. for the last 24 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday July 22, 2019 at 12:30pm at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr, Syracuse, NY 13219. The family will recieve friends and relatives  Monday July 22,2019 from 11am-12pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be In Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Howlett Hill Road.
