Loretta "Rita" (Van Dusen) Eddy was born on November 4, 1930, in Syracuse, to Birney and Elsie (Hurst) Van Dusen. She passed away at Van Duyn in Syracuse on October 18, 2020, just a few weeks shy of her 90th birthday. Rita married Lawrence "Larry" Eddy in 1956, and they enjoyed 40 happy years of marriage, with a shared passion for collecting antiques, before Larry died in 1996. She loved to sing (she was a mezzo-soprano), and was also a league bowler in her younger years. Rita was preceded in death by her siblings: Grace Carisse, Clarence "Red" Van Dusen, and Gloria Coon. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
