Kenneth (Ken) Conway, 77, died on November 12, 2024 at Francis House, where he received compassionate care.
Ken was born in Salinas, California to the late Howard and Ella (Brown) Conway. He grew up in Syracuse and graduated from Central High School. He attended Onondaga Community College, and then enlisted in the US Air Force. He served as a Sergeant in Crypto Systems in Washington, D.C. and Kenai, Alaska. When he completed his service, he returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Ann (Snyder), and began his career at IBM in Syracuse. Ken loved spending time with his family and friends. After retirement, he had more time to enjoy traveling abroad and throughout the United States. He participated in the Senior Games in Archery for many years. He also enjoyed target practice and trapshooting at Nedrow Sportsman Club. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, easy-going demeanor, and kindness to people and animals.
He is survived by his loving wife Ann, his beloved children and grandchildren. His sons, Casey (Kelly) and Kevin and his daughter, Caryn (Darrin) Ettinger. His grandchildren Callin Conway, and Ada and Finn Ettinger.
Ken was predeceased by his parents Howard and Ella, his sister Carol Rommeveaux, his niece Julia Leamy, and nephew Mark Swart.
Calling hours will be 4-6 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. A service will be held at 6pm immediately following calling hours at the funeral home. Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Francis House, SPCA or Humane Association.
