Kathleen "Kathy" Klamm, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday July 24, 2026 at Upstate University Hospital with her family by her side. She faced a courageous and unwavering battle with breast cancer, fighting with extraordinary strength and determination far beyond what anyone could have imagined. In 2021 Kathy was honored as a recipient and “Women of the Year” at the Baldwin Fund Gala for breast cancer. Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her kindness and vibrant spirit touched countless lives. A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, she was a proud graduate of The Convent School later known as The Franciscan Academy. Kathy dedicated many years working at Syracuse University and then retired from Upstate University Hospital in 2006. Her family was her greatest joy and the center of her heart. She loved traveling, tending her gardens, baking pies, shopping and spending time with friends at Wheeler’s and the Green Gate Inn. Kathy turned her home into the heart of many celebrations where family and friends gathered to laugh, sing, dance, and make lasting memories. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, loved, and part of the family - a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Mrs. Klamm was predeceased by her husband Edward “Eddie” and her parents, William and Viola Britt. Surviving are her daughter, Meg Klamm (Tom Marino); three sons, Tom (Jen), Teddy (Daniela), and Timmy (Becky); her companion for many years Robert “Bobby” Hayes, sister Patty O’Leary and brother William Britt, five grandchildren, Kathryn Florada, Matthew and Nicholas Klamm, Evan and Audrey Hubler, and nephew, Patrick O'Leary (Terri).

Funeral Services will be held at St. Patrick’s Church (N. Lowell Ave.) on Wednesday July 29, 2026 at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be held from 9-11 a.m. at church. Burial will be private at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr. Benjamin and his oncology team as well as the staff on floors 7 and 10 at Upstate University Hospital for their exceptional care.
