Josephine V. Wiersum, 91, of Syracuse and Jamesville passed away Friday April 12, 2024.

Josephine received her BS from the University of Illinois, Champaine, she also studied at Tulane in New Orleans and did her graduate studies at Syracuse University. She went on to become a Medical Office Manager. Josephine was an avid gardener and a devoted symphony attendee for many years.  Her religious beliefs were the guiding light of her life.

She is predeceased by her husband and best friend Jeffrey Wiersum, MD.

Josephine is survived by her loving sisters Katharine V. Ross of Schwenksville, PA; Judy V. (John R.) Palmer of Geneva, IL; and brother, Thomas E. Vyse of Sacramento, CA as well as by nieces and nephews occasionally under her guidance and always close to her heart: Dawn M. Timbers and Tracy T. Minnick of PA; Cristen M. Palmer of Hillsboro, OR; and nephews Hugh V. Palmer of Geneva, IL and John R. Palmer III of Plato Center, IL.

Private services were held and Josephine (Josie to her grieving family) was laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
