John "Nellie" Meagher, 92, of Camillus passed away peacefully November 29, 2023 at Francis House.
Nellie was born January 16, 1931 in Syracuse, NY to the late John & Loretta Meagher. He was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School and LeMoyne College. He went on to a long career in sales as a manufacturers rep and was self employed before retirement. Nellie was a man who loved faith, family, friends and laughter. He loved to frequent his favorite watering holes, Steve's and Tuscy's where he spent a lot of time with his pals. He was the Grand Leprechaun of one of the most popular fraternal organizations on Tipp Hill, Ryan's Rascals. Nellie also took great pride and Joy in his children, nieces, nephews, neighbors and grandkids enjoying and learning how to swim at 212.
He is predeceased by parents, his wife, Louise Morabito-Meagher, sisters, Elizabeth Dempsey and Joyce Kenney, as well as his son, J.R. Morabito.
Nellie is survived by his children, Marty Meagher, Amy (Matt Greco) Meagher, Robert (Marla) Morabito, Mara (Mike Ciciriello ) Morabito, Marcia (Bill Sullivan) Morabito, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday December 7, 2023 at 10am at St. Patrick's Church. A calling hour will be held prior to mass from 9-10am. Private burial will be held in the spring.
