Obituary

John Joseph Duffy , age 92, passed away on February 9, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 11, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA. John was the second oldest of five children born to Frank and Theresa Duffy. He attended both grammar school and high school in Philadelphia, graduating from Roman Catholic High School in 1951.



John is survived by his two daughters, Marianne Ansel (William) and Joanne Masino (Jerry); his grandsons Ben Masino (Kate), Brian Masino (Natalie), and Nick Masino, great granddaughter Ella, great grandson Colin and niece Susie Blaich. He was predeceased by his grandson, William E. Ansel III. John is also survived by his brothers Gerald Duffy (Susan) and George Moser (Helen). He was predeceased by his brother Frank and his sisters Theresa Wilson and Maryann Castracane.



John was predeceased by his beloved soulmate, best friend, and business partner, Judy Dorsey. Their bond was a constant source of comfort and joy, and he carried her memory with him every day.



John spent many years of his career in the food service industry, working in both production and management. Much of his career was devoted to stadium and arena food services, beginning with ARA Services. His work took him around the world to Olympic venues including Lake Placid, Yugoslavia, Calgary, South Korea, Spain, Los Angeles, and Georgia. He concluded his long and dedicated career managing the food services at the Syracuse Chiefs baseball stadium.


A Celebration of Life will be held in John's honor sometime in April 2026.
