Jane Krisak (nee Czarny) died August 30, 2021 in Pinehurst, NC after suffering a stroke in April followed by a recent struggle with COVID-19.  She was born on March 22, 1922 in Syracuse, NY to Stanley and Anna Czarny, the ninth of ten children.  Jane is predeceased by her husband, John (1978), her parents, and her nine siblings and respective spouses.   She is survived by two sons, John (Paulette) Krisak of London, Ontario, and Deacon Gregory (Bunny) Cross of Pinehurst, NC, granddaughters Rebecca (William) Zucconi, Rachel Krisak, Emily Jane Cross, Catherine Cross, Leah Krisak, and Tessa Krisak, great grandchildren, Dante, Theo, and Geneva Zucconi, sister-in-law, Mary (Stephen) Krisak, brother-in-law, Richard (Veronica) MacDonald, and many nieces and nephews.

Jane was a strong-willed woman, a survivor, who was steadfastly devoted to God and Church, her family, and her friends or acquaintances in need of corporal works of mercy, always giving generously and quietly before taking for herself.  She was a life-long learner, enjoying classical music, especially opera, and reading with great passion, mostly historical fiction and non-fiction.  Jane enjoyed golf for 60 years (taking up the game at age 30) and pitch, and was not overly patient with one who played either carelessly.  But, she will always be remembered foremost as a compassionate pillar of strength.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Syracuse, NY, on Tuesday, September 7, at 9:30am.  Calling hour prior to mass from 8:30am to 9:30am at church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt, NY.
