James Saukas, 65, of Solvay, passed away suddenly on July 31, 2020.  He was born in Denver, Co. to James and Janet Saukas. He grew up and attended schools in Plattsburgh, NY, until he entered the US Navy where he served four years. He eventually relocated to Syracuse, where he remained for the past 40 years.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 36 years, Sharon, daughter, Kelly, and his two very

special granddaughters, Avery and Addison; also survived by a sister, Cathy Fulford of North Carolina.

There will be no service or calling hours.

The family gives heartfelt thanks to the heroes of Hematology Oncology, especially Dr. Jeffrey Kirshner, and also Dr. Andres Madissoo and Dr. Erik Daly, who provided care during his decade long cancer battle and successful remission.
