James J.
Moran
January 15, 2026
James Joseph Moran, longtime resident of Austin, Texas, died peacefully on January 15, 2026, in Arlington Texas. He was 68 years old. Jim was born in Syracuse, NY, and attended St. Anthony of Padua School. After graduating from Corcoran High School, he continued his education at Cayuga Community College majoring in electronics. He moved to Texas to work in the cable TV and computer fields. His employers included Dell Inc., Phantom Technologies, and Safe Harbor Compliance and Clinical Services.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret Moran. One of 6 children, Jim is survived by his brothers Michael (Michelle) and John (Nicole Krassas), and his sisters Mary (Thomas Benoit), Peg (James Bopp), and Patty. He is also survived by 4 nephews and 3 nieces, and many cousins.
Jim was a big-hearted family member and friend. He enjoyed time with family, especially "roughhousing" with his nephews when they were young. In Texas he enjoyed the live music scene in Austin including Austin City Limits concerts and nightclubs especially Antone's "Home of the Blues." As part of his love of music, he taught himself to play guitar and had his own guitar collection.
The family would like to thank Verti Lewis for her loving care of and dedication to Jim. We also would like to thank the staff at Arlington Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Arlington Texas for their excellent care and support.
