Elizabeth Ann
Segar
May 25, 1949 — Oct 31, 2026
Syracuse
Elizabeth Ann Segar, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Beth was a teacher and a member of Sacred Heart Church. A spirited, quick-witted, and one-of-a-kind woman, she was known for her tell-it-like-it-is attitude, eccentric personality, and hilarious sense of humor. Tenacious, strong, and wise, Beth loved her family unconditionally and treasured every moment spent with them.
A devoted Syracuse basketball fan, Beth also loved hummingbirds, flamingos, gardening, and spending time in her home surrounded by all her treasures. She was proud of her Polish heritage and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Anyone who truly knew and loved Nonnie knew how much she despised Halloween. True to her contrary spirit, she chose Halloween, the one day she always wished would skip itself, to make her final exit.
Beth was predeceased by her parents, John and Dorothy Szczech.
She is survived by her children, Erica Segar-Donadio (Gary Donadio), Jeffrey Segar, and Caitlin McMahon (Daniel Cenajko); seven beloved grandchildren, Alexandra and Olivia Donadio, Christian and Addison Segar and Jack, Madelyn, and Andrew McMahon; her brother, John Jr. (Mary) Szczech; and two nieces.
Services will be private.
She was our family’s unofficial meteorologist, and her forecast came with 100% chance of being shared, whether we asked or not. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to check the forecast before you leave the house. She would want you to bring a jacket.
