November 30, 1945 – December 29, 2024
Diana Rae (DeWitt) Meier, 79, of Syracuse passed away December 29, 2024. She is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Olga (Sanky) DeWitt, her brother, Douglas DeWitt and her loving husband, Stephen Meier.
Diana grew up on the family owned 150-acre Christmas Tree Farm and The Red Barn Restaurant in Kirkville, NY. She graduated from Minoa High School, worked as a receptionist at Coopers and Lybrand accounting firm and was a health aid at Malta House. Diana was a 3-time cancer survivor and volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Jeanette (Josh) Dunham, and Elaine Morgillo, brother, David DeWitt, grandchildren, Parker (Alexa), Taylor, Hayden, Ava and great granddaughter, Adelynn. Also, family members, Kevin Meier, a son by marriage, granddaughters by marriage, Paige, Mya and Jayden, former husband, Clement Morgillo and several nieces and nephews.
Diana was a light to everyone she met. She loved to bake for others and was known for her famous chocolate covered potato chips. She was a giving, caring and thoughtful blessing to us all. Her strong and stubborn nature got her through all her storms with grace.
A memorial service will be held at Edward J. Ryan and Son Funerial Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Syracuse, NY on January 10th from 4:00-6:00pm followed by a prayer service. Burial will be private.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Kirkville Volunteer Fire Dept: 6225 N. Kirkville Road, Kirkville NY 13082.
