David F. Peterson, 72, of Syracuse, NY passed away April 28, 2021, peacefully after a long illness at Upstate University Hospital.  Dave was born in Lansing Michigan in 1949 and was the beloved son of the late, Isabel and Frank Peterson.  He retired from CSX railroad where he was employed as a signal maintainer and he was a communicant at St. Charles Church.

Dave enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and always left those around him smiling.  He was well-loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dave is predeceased by his parents, and brother, Robert Peterson.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Holly Peterson, daughter, Christina (Joe Lee), sister, Patricia (John) Fultz, brother, Frank (Martha) Peterson, several nieces, nephews, cousins and his 4-legged buddy, Bandit.

Dave's family would like to thank the caring staff at Upstate Palliative Care.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 8:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 417 S. Orchard Rd.  Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 4th from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave.  Burial will be in Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
