Charles A. “Chuck” Sorbello, 84, of Camillus, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Born on August 3,1942 in Syracuse, NY, Chuck grew up in Westvale. He graduated from CBA in 1960 where he excelled in baseball and football. He attended Syracuse University and then served in the U.S. Army as a medic where he was stationed in Germany. 

Chuck had a long and prosperous career in the trucking business. Later in his career, he transitioned into the title insurance industry before retiring. Chuck was an avid golfer who truly loved the game and was a proud member of Tuscarora Golf Club for over 40 years. He was the president of the Vagabonds golf group, where he was the glue that kept the group going for many years. He will be sorely missed by all in the Vagabonds group.

 Chuck was a big supporter of his alma mater, CBA, where he served on the Board of Directors and was chair of the alumni committee. He was instrumental in fundraising efforts to support the school. Chuck was known for his infectious laugh and his uncanny ability to connect with people. He loved to support his grandchildren’s sporting events and all other activities they were involved in. 

Chuck is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Grace Sorbello, and his sister Camille Baron. He is survived by his loving wife Jane, his siblings Joe Sorbello (Donna) and Donna Gates, his sons Marc Sorbello, David Sorbello, his daughter Mellissa Mahler (Chris Morgan), and his grandchildren Violet, Lauren, Charlie and Lily. Chuck is also survived by Jane’s extended family. A memorial service will be held on Staturday, October 3, 2026 at 2:45pm, calling hours will be held prior from 1 to 2:45pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave.
