September 16, 1937 – November 27, 2021
Charles R. McCormick, 84 of Syracuse passed away at home on Saturday surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of Regiopolis College, Kingston, Ontario. Charles retired from the pipe coverer's Local 30. After retirement, he was CEO of McCormick's Nuts. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret, in 1991 and his sister Joan, and brother John (Jerry).
Charlie enjoyed spending time with family, friends and living life to the fullest. He had a great love for music and many hobbies. Charlie enjoyed daily walks in Marcellus Park, golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening, and an occasional wager on his favorite sporting event. Anyone who knew Charlie loved his quick wit, great sense of humor and famous one liners.
He is survived by his children, Patrick McCormick (Kate), Bridget McCormick, Matthew McCormick(Diane) and Colleen Brown (Michael); siblings, Michael McCormick, Daniel McCormick (Shami), Susan Hartnett (James), Marilyn Cappuccilli (Peter) and Patrick McCormick (Cathy); Grandchildren, Sean, Maggie, Carly, Kyle, Jack, Chloe, and Kendyll, and many nieces and nephews; and long time companion, Patricia Wolfe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus, NY. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made of Hospice of CNY, Inc.
