Sharlene "Chickie" Procopio, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday June 28th at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her devoted family.

Born February 5 th, 1938 in Syracuse NY, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Catherine Smith, Chickie had a smile that would light up the room and always had her sunglasses on while doing it. Her love for the sun and her husband Paul of 66 years was always evident. She enjoyed music, family, and spending time with the ones she loved. Her personality and Hollywood style was larger than life. Whether it be lifetime movies, sitting in the sun, or watching the Waltons, Chickie was a lover of life and always had her door open to visitors. Her spirit lives on in all of her children and is embedded in the hearts of her family. We would like to thank the staff at 4th memorial at Crouse Hospital. Your compassion will forever be in our hearts.

Chickie is pre-deceased by siblings, Llloyd, Donald, Frederick, Francis, Collin, Shirley, Cathy, James, Suzanne, Thomas, Teddy, Benji, Dickie, and Maureen. She is survived by her brother George, husband Paul, sons Paul Jr. (Katherine), Vincent (Tina), Dominick (Erin), Daughters, Theresa (Brien), and Lori (Dave), 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday July 11th from 4-7 p.m. at Edward J. Ryan Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday July 12th at 11:30 a.m. at Most Holy Rosary Church with burial to follow at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
