Carol (Kobischen) Schoenborn, 79, of Syracuse, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 1, 2020. Daughter of the late Helen and Benjamin Kobischen, Carol is predeceased by son, Gary Schoenborn (1977) and survived by sister, Nancy Halperin (Michael); sons, Jason and Gregg Schoenborn; daughter, Gwen Conway; grandchildren, Kirsten, Patrick and Emily Schoenborn; Mason and Isabella Schoenborn; and Brittany (Cochran), Michael and Alex Conway; as well as two great granddaughters, Amelia and Willow Cochran.

Born August 10, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York, Carol grew up on a farm in Broadalbin, New York. After graduating from Broadalbin High School, she attended Syracuse University where she earned both a bachelor's in art and a master's in art education. She would later share her passion for painting and photography as an art teacher at Porter Elementary before retiring from Franklin Elementary School.

An avid sewer and knitter, Carol also annually donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
